The Rosewood London

London, UK

London is a city that wears its history like a well-tailored coat—classic, elegant, but not afraid of a little edge. The Rosewood London fits right in. Set in a restored Edwardian mansion just steps from Covent Garden, this hotel oozes old-school grandeur with a smart, modern twist. Once the headquarters of the Pearl Assurance Company, it still feels reassuring—but now with silk throws, polished marble, and the soft scent of eucalyptus wafting through the air. Walk in through a grand archway into a tranquil courtyard (a rarity in this city!) and you’re transported from hectic Holborn to a peaceful, posh world of your own. The building is stunning, all sweeping staircases and restored architectural details. The old legal chambers have been transformed into rooms and suites that are large by London standards and supremely comfortable. Think velvet upholstery, art deco touches, and bathrooms that beg for a long soak. Room décor balances rich textures with clean lines. There’s a proper sense of place—yes, it’s luxe, but never showy. And every comfort is thought of: Nespresso machine, Rivolta Carmignani linens, D.R. Harris toiletries, and even a pillow menu, because London is hard enough without the wrong pillow. As for food… well, cancel your dinner plans. Holborn Dining Room is part brasserie, part gin palace (literally, over 500 gins), and completely fabulous. Known for its handmade pies (do yourself a favor and order one), the kitchen somehow makes comfort food taste refined. Meanwhile, Scarfes Bar is a destination in itself. Picture: roaring fireplace, live jazz, a killer negroni, and satirical portraits lining the walls. It’s like your favorite pub grew up, got a trust fund, and became really good company.

The devil is in the details
