Nobu Hotel Miami Beach
Miami Beach, USA
Japanese minimalism meets Miami excess… and somehow it works beautifully. Nobu Hotel Miami Beach opened in 2016 inside the legendary Eden Roc, the iconic Morris Lapidus-designed resort that has been hosting glamorous bad behaviour since the 1950s. Frank Sinatra stayed here. Elizabeth Taylor did too. Probably with more diamonds. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and producer Meir Teper brought the Nobu brand to Miami with a quieter, more refined energy than much of South Beach. The interiors, designed by David Rockwell, lean heavily into natural woods, soft lighting and Japanese-inspired calm…a welcome contrast to the nearby parade of neon and tiny dresses. The real draw, however, is the atmosphere. Nobu Miami feels grown-up. Chic without trying too hard. The sort of place where people wear linen properly.
